As part of the exhibition, Guns for Banta at Gasworks Gallery in 2011, void.cut co-curated an afternoon talk about the notion of ‘soviet friendship’ and militant cinema.

Speakers included: Kodwo Eshun, artist and writer, Jeremy Hicks, senior lecturer in the School of Languages, Linguistics and Film at Queen Mary, University of London, and Ros Gray, writer, theorist and lecturer in Critical Studies, Department of Art, Goldsmiths College and Tutor for Research, Curating Contemporary Art, the Royal College of Art.
